Seattle Mariners hire Tim Kissner as new director of international operations

The Mariners announced Kissner's employing on Monday. He worked the previous two seasons as a crosschecker in the Chicago Cubs organization and prior to that invested 10 years with the Philadelphia Phillies. From 2008 to 2010, he was the Pacific Rim planner for the Phillies. Kissner will manage all the Mariners' international scouting operations. He changes Bob Engle, who surrendered previously this month after nearly a decade in the position.
